Global Security

Word has been asked to collaborate with sports marketing agency Fasttrack Communications to produce an athlete sponsorship guidelines document for a global security firm. Ahoy there! Silicon Cup glory for IXEurope

IT Datacentre services company IXEurope asked Word to help with their 4 boats entered into this years Silicon Cup Regatta at Cowes in the Isle of Wight. Word produced all boat branding for IX and its sponsors along with all of the crew clothing for the 4 boats and their 40 crew.
The event was held over 2 days and IX managed 3rd overall with one of their boats. Most importantly a great time was had by all!

England OK, English UK!

It's first Annual Language Fair in it's new guise as English UK, provided Word with the opportunity to wow it's members with a new and improved Fair handbook. The guide becomes the industry bible for the year ahead as it contains all contact information of every English language school throughout the World.

The handbook is produced using our litho and digital printing technology and also a personalised polypropylene binder that all information goes into.

Square Eyed at Square Mile!

Square Mile Sourcing are a consultancy offering expert advice on any aspect of IT for large corporate comapnies across the World. Outsourcing, Offshoring, Insourcing and Consultancy are all areas that the company specialises in. They required a new corporate ID to carry across all aspects of their business, followed by a new website that would help to inform potential new clients about what they do and how to contact them. Word worked within the tight deadlines and set budget to get both the ID signed off and the website created in time for the directors to showcase it at an important meeting in America.

The whole project was started in July with the completed website finished in the last week of September!

China Breakthrough

La Porcellana one of the UK's largest suppliers of Hotel and Restaurant Tableware enlisted Word to recreate a whole new website to show off their ever increasing range of Tableware.

The company has the need to constantly update their site with additions and deletions to their range. They also have the need to be able to increase their demands on web with a site that can be added to with modules such as e-commerce, stock control and online ordering.

Using our knowledge of the Web, Word has produced a cutting edge database- driven website that allows the users to update simply and immediately in-house. This technology allows constant monitoring of web traffic and detailed analysis for Search Engine Optimisation, enabling La Porcellana to use the site as their primary marketing tool.

Healthcare Pitch win

Today Word are pleased to announce that we have won a 6 way creative pitch to produce Priory Hospitals new range of patient information leaflets.

The job involves designing a set of 9 information leaflets to be distributed to GP's surgeries throughout the UK. Working together with Crystal Mark, the National Plain English body, the new pamphlets will be in waiting rooms from early 2005.

Buon Lavoro!

Today marks the start of the 3 day conference and exhibition of ARELS (Associated Recognised English Language Schools) at the Metropole hotel in Brighton. The conference is the World's most important international language fair, catering for some 900 delegates over the 3 days.

Word has now produced the Fair's handbook for the last 5 years, incorporating our digital black and white printing technology with colour litho printing, we are able to meet the incredibly tight deadline that the production demands.

The final supply of the 900 finished handbooks is made just 48 hours after the final draft copy is supplied ensuring that all delegate information is completely up to date.

Record breaking artwork at the speed of sound

IX Europe, one of Word’s IT clients has sponsored the latest attempt on the Electric vehicle land speed record. Word were asked to produce all branded clothing including caps, T-shirts and long sleeve rugby shirts for the event.

The car, run by British team Primetime Land Speed Engineering will travel to the Chott-el-Jerid salt flats in Southern Tunisia to make an attempt on the 245mph World Electric Land Speed Record.On June 9th. The team will attempt to make history by doing over 300 mph in an electric car.

Word have also produced the graphics for the vehicle promoting the company’s sponsorship, along with banners for the site out in the Tunisian desert.

Celtic’s Greatest relies on Word

Word has just put the finishing touches on all of the promotional material associated with the release of a new film charting the life of 60’s Celtic soccer legend Jimmy Johnstone.

The Celtic star, recently heralded as the club’s greatest ever player, has just been diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease, and in order raise funds and awareness of this terminal illness, Jamie Doran has directed a feature length film charting Jimmy’s career.

The film contains interviews with footballs greats, and was a dream job for Word’s football loving designers. Jimmy’s film, called ‘Lord of the Wing’, is available in the shops now on DVD and VHS, along with a CD single featuring Simple Minds and Shane MacGowan. Word take out their pensions early!

Having won the creative pitch, last year, for the National Association of Pension Funds identity work, Word were asked to produce the 80pp show guide for NAPF’s Annual Conference and Exhibition at Glasgow’s SECC.

Caffe Torelli launch at Hotelympia 2004

Caffe Torelli is the new coffee company set up by Marco Costa, son of the legendary Sergio Costa, founder of Costa Coffee. Word was chosen to create the Torelli identity for packaging, marketing and advertising. We have also designed, produced and managed the company’s launch stand at Hotelympia in London’s ExCeL centre.

The launch has been a great success, and we should soon be seeing the new brand in coffee shops around the country, as well as Waitrose supermarkets.
